As I sit down to write this I still don’t know exactly what to say. I suppose I’ll start with an explanation of what is happening, and we’ll go from there. At the end of January, I will be going on a mission trip to Haiti again. I can’t wait to finally go down there again! As most of you know, I feel called to serve as a missionary, whatever form that may take. As a result, I have soaked up every mission or service available to me.
I have spent days praying about whether it is God’s will for me to go to Haiti this year. At the end of it, I felt that it was God’s will to go to Haiti this year as well. This isn’t a decision I make lightly. If God would rather me stay in the States and serve here during that week rather than go to Haiti then I would certainly do that.
With this opportunity comes a cost, however. These trips aren’t free, and this year is going to be particularly expensive. Because of this, I have paid for my plane ticket out of my college savings for the time being. I hope to reimburse this to myself using fundraising and a fair amount of work, but the fact remains that at the moment my savings account is significantly thinner than a week ago.
I’m not telling this to you to guilt you into giving me money or anything. I simply feel like it is best that I let you know. If no one donates money for my trip, I’m still going to go. Who am I to limit God’s power by shrinking from an opportunity just because of a few dollars? My God is bigger than that. He hasn’t failed me before, so if He wants me to go to Haiti then to Haiti I will go. I’ll leave the specifics up to Him.
“God always gives his best to those who leave the choice with him.”– Jim Elliot
Overall, I’ve really been feeling like this is an opportunity for me to develop and strengthen my trust in God. After all, how could I be expected to trust Him when my life and the lives of others are on the line if I don’t even trust Him with a few dollars? My God will come through for me, however He decides to do that.
If any of you would like to donate to my trip or contact me about Haiti, you can email me at missionary1026@gmail.com or donate via Paypal below.

I love it when Antonio comes to visit! He’s such a fireball. Big things can come in small packages Jealous of your opportunity!

That sounds exciting Theron! I’m glad you get to visit there. I love listening to Antonio speak when he comes to the States.
