“We do not want merely to see beauty, though, God knows, even that is bounty enough. We want something else which can hardly be put into words—to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it.” – C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory
Today’s post is more of an announcement than an article, but I couldn’t resist putting that quote up there. Maybe someday you’ll read it in a longer post I do. Sometimes I just can’t help but reflect on all the beauty God has created. It points so wonderfully to its Creator.
My journey these last few months has been an odd and hard one, but no matter how dark the nights have been or how unexpected the turns in my path have turned out to be, it seems I cannot escape the growing sense of magnitude I feel when my mind begins to ponder the beauty God has instilled in His creation. His greatness is found everywhere, from the simple joy conveyed by a bird song to the awe-inspiring magnificence of a snowy mountain peak.
Anyways, sorry for the prose, but here’s the announcement: I’m transitioning this blog from a public online presence to a private email list. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you can sign up in the sidebar and you’ll keep receiving these posts like nothing ever happened. That is all. You may carry on with your day now. Don’t forget to look for God in the beauty you see around you. He loves to show us His glory, so I don’t think you’ll have much trouble.
