I recently returned from an all week mission with my youth group, and while I was there, I gathered some inspiration. This post will have a mix of topics, so bear with me.
First, I realized the power of prayer. I have a coin that has written on it 1 John 5:14,” This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
This has reminded me that I can trust in God and pray, and anything I ask will be given to me. I have started living by this, and I have discovered all the blessings that come from trusting God. I would never even be the person I am today without relying on prayer.
Secondly, I want to emphasize that I’m not perfect. I make mistakes like everyone else, and I am afraid that I won’t become that person God wants me to be, or won’t marry that person He wants me to. But I do not constantly worry about these things. I know God has a plan for me, so I won’t trouble myself with these worries. While I was at the mission week, we took sticks, wrote some of our sins on them, and cast them into the fire, giving them over to God. We showed that God has the power to take away our sins. However, we kept a broken fragment of our sticks to remind us that we are not perfect, and that we must continually rely on God for our salvation.
Finally, I will continue to try to be the person God wants me to become; always failing, always pushing ahead. I want to learn to share His love with the world, because it doesn’t come naturally to me. As I look back, I see God’s perfect plan for me unfolding, and I can’t wait to see what He will do next. This video gives some insight into what I think and what I want to become.
