The Newsboys just published an amazing new song about standing up for our beliefs, no matter what the cost. It makes me wonder if I would be the one the standing before the jury, pleading guilty of speaking the name of Jesus. I know I should.
The movie God’s Not Dead and its coming sequel shows what can happen to those who share Jesus with others and refuse to be silent. It is inevitable that Christians will be persecuted, but we must stand resolute in our faith and not be moved by the oppression that is bound to come our way.
There is a saying, ” If you were to be accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?”
Would there? If you wouldn’t be found guilty, why? Maybe you need to rethink the way you live your life and how you talk to your friends when you aren’t in church. If you are persecuted in any way, big or small, you can be thankful to be one of those who was persecuted for His name. James 1:2 says, ” Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.”
So as you go on with your life after reading this post, ask yourself this: would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Darrel, I enjoy reading your blog posts. Each week on my blog I write a devotional. I bring that up because I have been having others write some for me as well. I am working on the 2016 schedule for the devotionals and was wondering if you would be interested in writing 1-3 devotionals for me next year. I go through books of the Bible so I probably would just assign you a passage. What do you think? Let me know.

Sorry it took me a while to reply, but I would love to do a few devotionals for you!

Oh, you’re fine. That is great! What would be a good way to contact you? Do you have an e-mail I can send the info to?
